Is this website down? Free uptime check
Site not loading? Find out whether it is down for everyone or just for you. We show the server response code, connection timing and the full redirect chain.
How the uptime check works
The check sends a real HTTP request to the address from our server in Europe and follows redirects to the final page. It shows the response code, the IP address the domain resolved to, the server software, and the time spent on each stage: DNS lookup, connection, server response (TTFB) and the full response.
Because the request comes from outside your network, it answers the usual question: is the site down for everyone or just for me? If our check gets a normal page while your browser cannot open it, the problem is on your side: a DNS cache, the network, a VPN or a block somewhere between you and the site.
What the response codes mean
- 200 and other 2xx codes: the site is up and returned a page.
- 301, 302, 307, 308: redirects. The check follows them and shows the final address; more than one or two hops slows down every visit.
- 4xx: the server works but refuses this page, for example 403 forbidden, 404 not found or 429 too many requests.
- 5xx: the server or the application behind it failed: 500 is an error in the site's code, 502 and 504 are problems between a proxy and the backend, 503 is overload or maintenance, 508 is the hosting's resource limit.
- Site is not responding: there was no HTTP answer at all. Usually the cause is DNS, a stopped web server, a firewall or a timeout.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this tool watch my site around the clock?
- No, every check is a single test at the moment you press the button. For continuous monitoring you need a service that repeats the check every few minutes and alerts you when the site goes down.
- Why is the response slow here but fast in my browser?
- Your browser may be showing the page from its cache or from a CDN node near you, while our check makes a fresh request. The server response time you see here is what a first-time visitor or Googlebot gets.
- Can I check a specific page, not just the homepage?
- Yes. Enter the full address with the path, for example example.com/contact, and the check tests exactly that URL.
